Deficiency of vitamin D, which comes from sunshine, is becoming very common because of the misguided medical advice to avoid sunshine. Instead, remember to "avoid sunburn, not sunshine!"

Why? Low vitamin D is associated with increased risk of fibromyalgia, chronic pain, diabetes, osteoporosis, cancer and numerous other problems. Another study suggests that vitamin D deficiencies may even lead to higher risk of a C-section among pregnant women.

Hypertension and muscle weakness are associated with a higher risk of C-section. The study showed that vitamin D deficiency can lead to these conditions. Furthermore, other studies have shown that vitamin D deficiency can lead to an illness called pre-eclampsia, which can threaten mothers and their babies.
