Nutrition

Hello Reader,

This is part 7 in my "Fatigue & Fibromyalgia Are Optional" series. In this week's Brain Fog Friendly (BFF) Summary, I'll discuss the importance of proper nutrition, including some in the form of nutritional supplements, that you need in your diet to keep your energy turbocharged at an optimally healthy level.

(To remind you, these are just the short summaries I include at the beginning of each chapter in my newest edition of From Fatigued to Fantastic! I added these to my new edition to help readers who don't have the time to go through all the detail in every chapter, allowing them to quickly get the main points of a topic while devoting more time to reading the details in chapters they're more interested in.)

BFF Summary

  1. Foods you enjoy are usually actually healthy, until food processors get ahold of them.
  2. This includes foods like eggs, coffee, tea, and chocolate. These are quite healthy. Unless people have high blood pressure, a high salt intake is very good to help adrenal fatigue and CFS/FMS.
  3. What is most important is to cut out excess sugar and processed foods. Sodas and fruit juices have a whopping ¾ teaspoon of sugar per ounce. Eat an apple or orange instead.

Eliminating Persistent Post-COVID Symptoms and CFS/Fibromyalgia

Virus

COVID-19 deaths have been the main media focus for over a year now. But with time, something else has become clear: We’re focusing largely on the death statistics. Now, with the first wave of the battle done and the casualties counted, we are realizing that it is time to focus on the people who didn't die—but who also don’t completely recover.

Q&A of the Week

Question: I have CFS and am experiencing very blurry vision. Can CFS cause this?

Answer: Possibly. Fluctuating vision and frequent need to adjust eyeglass strength is common in CFS/fibromyalgia. This is a result of the added stresses put on your thyroid and adrenals. I advise those I treat to delay getting new glasses until these have stabilized through treatment. (Note that vision loss in only one eye would unlikely be caused by CFS/FMS, and you should consult your physician if you experience this.)

Optical Illusion: Cats and Dogs Are the Same Color

This illusion* seems to show green cats and pink dogs. But they're actually the exact same color. Read below to see proof.

Cats and Dogs Are the Same Color

First, let's isolate to just one cat and dog and zoom in a bit:

Cats and Dogs Are the Same Color

Now let's remove the green bars in front of the cat, and purple bars in front of the dog. Voila! Same color.
