Addressing Mold Toxicity in Fibromyalgia
Vitality101 Newsletter
Hello Reader,
Although about 85% of people with fibromyalgia feel quite a bit better on the S.H.I.N.E.® protocol, there are about 15% that are not helped. We are constantly looking for more pieces of the puzzle to get increasingly effective responses. For those of you who do not respond to S.H.I.N.E.®, and really for anyone with fibromyalgia, I strongly recommend reading this guest article by one of my favorite fibromyalgia clinicians and researchers, Neil Nathan M.D. (see Dr. Nathan's website). I also very strongly recommend that you read his excellent book Molds and Mycotoxins.
Mycotoxins (mold toxins) are simply one of a number of players in fibromyalgia. These toxins are produced by mold growing in your body and in the environment (home and office). And they are very difficult for your body to eliminate without help. It's especially important to consider the possibility of mycotoxins if you have:
- Intense anxiety and/or depression
- Increased sensitivity to light, sound, touch and chemicals (and EMFs)
- Chronic nausea with vomiting
- Persistent diarrhea despite treatment for candida and small intestinal bacterial overgrowth
- Unusual neurological presentations including dyskinesias and pseudoseizures
(See the Mycotoxin Protocol for a quick overview of testing and treatment once you have read D. Nathan's article below.)

This Week's Specials
Consultations With Dr. T
I treat people with CFS and fibromyalgia all over the world by providing consultations over the phone or in person, with a comprehensive "new patient" consultation session including four hours of one-on-one time with me. During this initial session, I'll review your medical lab records, thoroughly discuss the experiences you've had with this illness, answer all of your questions, and recommended a detailed treatment protocol for your case.
"Unrest," a New Movie on CFS/FMS/ME
I invite you to watch this trailer on a new Sundance award-winning movie on CFS/FMS/ME that will be opening soon. I found it very touching. Here's a comment on it that I posted on YouTube.
"Well done! I look forward to letting the 40,000 readers of my CFS/FMS/ME newsletter know about your video. We have helped thousands of people with this illness recover. CFS/FMS/ME left me homeless when I had it myself. Since then, my goal has been very simple. Make effective treatment available for everyone."
With those who have the very severe form that this movie addresses, it's especially important to consider orthostatic intolerance, trying Mestinon for acetylcholine receptor antibodies, and using antivirals.
Our free Energy Analysis Program helps tailor a program to optimize energy using our S.H.I.N.E.® protocol, which in our published placebo-controlled study resulted in 91% of people improving with an average 90% increase in quality of life. Our Vitality101.com website has many other free resources as well, including a one-minute quiz that will tell if orthostatic intolerance is present. Everyone is different and each needs a different mix of areas addressed. Hang in there! You can get a life back :-)
