Optical Illusion: Cameron's Blue Eye
Here's a black & white photo of actress Cameron Diaz. Notice how the left eye looks blue. That's an illusion. The eye on the left is the same black & white as the one on the right. How does this work? The faded pink tinting overlays everything on the left half of the photo except Cameron's pupil (there is a hole in the pink layer). The pinkish color causes your mind to shift it's interpretation of the contrasting grayscale to its opposing color—which in this case is blue-green. To prove it, below shows what her eyes look like if the pink fade is turned solid. The pupil is revealed to be black & white.
