Laughter Therapy More Effective for Dry Eyes Than Eye Drops
In this study of people with dry eyes, using "laughter therapy" was as effective (actually slightly more so) than artificial tears.
Researchers had one group of people who reported having dry eyes use artificial tears four times a day. The other group repeated the phrases "Hee hee hee, hah hah hah, cheese cheese cheese, cheek cheek cheek, hah hah hah hah hah hah" 30 times per 5-minute session four times daily.
Personally, I would have had them watch a good TV comedy instead of the "he he, ha ha ha" therapy. But if it worked, it worked :-)
Other things I find that help optimize healthy tears include a good multivitamin (like our Energy Revitalization Drink Mix), Vectomega® for omega 3 support, and Omega-7 Dry Eye Relief.
Perhaps laughter truly is the best medicine!
