A study recently presented at the 2025 American Heart Association looked at the effect of daily multivitamin use on biological aging. The Cocoa Supplement Multivitamins Outcomes Study (COSMOS) found that participants who took a multivitamin for 2 years showed 10%-20% lower age progression than participants who took placebo instead.

Early studies had already shown multivitamin use as being associated with a slowing of brain aging. Helping brain fog and slowing brain aging are two of the countless benefits of a well-designed multivitamin. I consider the Energy Revitalization Drink Mix powder to be IMHO the best multivitamin in the world (how's that for a modest statement? :-) I recommend it for everybody and its benefits are quite remarkable.

Dr. JoAnn Manson, a professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School and one of the study authors, noted "In this study, the average age was 70.2 years… Approximately 950 participants who had blood tests at baseline and at 1-year and 2-year follow-ups were randomly selected. Biological aging was assessed using five different epigenetic clocks …

"In all five epigenetic clocks, there was a signal for slower aging in the multivitamin compared with the placebo arm … with an average of about 10%-20% slower aging with daily multivitamin use over the 2 years of the intervention. This equated to about 4 months of aging that seemed to be averted or prevented. Among participants who had accelerated aging at baseline, the reported benefits were even greater."

Compensate for a Nutrient-Poor American Diet

For most Americans following the Standard American Diet (SAD)—which has lost fully 50% of its essential vitamins and minerals in food processing—a high-quality multivitamin can be a powerful ally in supporting overall health.

Of course, no supplement can replace the benefits of eating well and making smart lifestyle choices. But in a country where processed, nutrient-poor foods dominate the menu, a good multivitamin helps fill critical gaps. If the data reflects the typical nutritional trajectory between ages 40 and 70, it suggests that taking a multivitamin during those years could help people maintain the biological health of someone five years younger.

Safe, affordable, and widely available, a well-formulated multivitamin might just be one of the smartest health decisions you can make. I recommend the Energy Revitalization Drink Mix. This is a powerful way to improve overall health and function in so many ways, with one simple good tasting drink replacing over a dozen pills.
