Common Questions on Multivitamins
Here are a few common questions about multivitamins, and their answers:
Question 1. Hundreds of years ago, no one was taking multivitamins. Why do we need them now?
Answer: Because of modern-day food processing, fully half of the vitamins and minerals normally found in food are lost, while keeping all the calories. For the first time in human history, many people are obese and malnourished at the same time. So most people today would benefit from taking a daily multivitamin.
Question 2. Many of the vitamins taken in supplements are lost through urination, so aren't we just making expensive urine?
Answer: No. “Experts” who say this might just as well stop drinking water, because that also seems to simply be lost in urine.
Question 3. Are the US RDAs (Recommended Daily Allowances) optimal?
Answer: Sadly, not even close. In large part, the RDAs are based on what is needed to prevent overt deficiency diseases, like scurvy and rickets, with some amount added for a safety margin. But what is needed for optimal function is very different than the RDA. And numerous studies show that the amount of nutrients needed for optimal health is rarely lower than RDA, and often much higher.
Question 4. Which vitamins and minerals do I need?
Answer: By definition, all of them!
Question 5. What multinutrient do you recommend?
Answer: Instead of taking over a dozen pills to get the optimal amounts and forms of the 30 key nutrients you need, you can do it easily in one tasty drink each day. This is available in the “Fatigued to Fantastic™ Energy Revitalization Drink Mix.” IMHO, this is the best multi in the world. It contains optimal levels and forms of the 30 key vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and energy nutrients that are lost in food processing. I designed this based on hundreds of studies. This is what I take myself, and I recommend it for pretty much everybody.
