Researchers from the University of Hong Kong conducted a study to evaluate the effect of acupuncture on children with ASD. In the study of 50 children, they found that acupuncture improved many conditions impacted by autism, including eye-hand coordination, sensory-motor skills, language, and social and emotional skills.

"A short course of acupuncture had efficacy in improving various developmental and behavioral aspects of children with autism," concluded researchers in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine.
