Phantom Limb Pain May Respond Well to the Medication Namenda
The study discussed two patients who suffered severe lower extremity injuries and subsequently developed phantom limb pain (PLP) that was persisted despite high dose narcotics (including IV) and other pain medications. Despite these therapies, the patients had severe PLP—which dramatically decreased after Namenda was started, and without significant side effects from the medication.
