Get Off Junk Food to Lower Your Risk of Dementia

A study analyzed the diets of a large number of people and followed them for over a decade. 14,000 of them developed dementia.
Those who ate 10% more processed foods in their diet showed a 16% higher than average risk of developing dementia. Those who ate 10% less average processed foods showed a 12% lower risk of dementia.
So a moderate change in diet from junk to healthy may translate into a 28% lower risk of dementia. This is yet another study showing that dementia may be preventable, and not a "genetic risk cast in stone."
