PEA supplements (palmitoylethanolamide), which have been used to decrease microglial activation (often called brain pain, which is common in fibromyalgia), has now been found to be helpful for diabetic neuropathy.

In the placebo-controlled study, PEA supplements were given to people with diabetic nerve pain who had scored themselves 4.7 on a pain scale of 1-10. After eight weeks of 300 mg PEAtwice daily, their reported pain had dropped by an average of 64%.

So good news for this coming Novermber's National Diabetes Month :-)
