I am 62 years old. Would Cymbalta be a good prescribed medicine for fibromyalgia? I am very sensitive to medicines, as I usually experience side effects. If not Cymbalta, what would you recommend in the smallest dosage possible? Thank you.

Answer

For a detailed discussion of treating pain and fibromyalgia, see Eliminating Fibromyalgia Pain. Cymbalta can be helpful in many people, but I tend to hold off on using it, as withdrawal can be quite severe when it is time for people to come off of it.
