I live in Vancouver BC Canada, is there a doctor here that you would recommend I see to be checked for FM? The only Canadian doctors listed are in Ontario. I have suffered for over 25 years with unexplainable all over pain and aches from a virus in my spinal cord in 1986, had a high white cell count which they found from a spinal tap. Had numbness from waist down that lasted 6 months. Since then have had neuralgia, muscle pain and aches. One doctor called it ME in the 90's . I fit all of the symptoms of ME which I found out is like FM but have never had a real diagnosis. They also thought it was MS but over the years I gave up asking as no one had answers for me, except to take prescription pain killers, which I chose years ago not too. I have just lived with it the best I can. Any help would be appreciated Thank you so much ..
I would recommend your reading my book "Pain Free 1-2-3", especially looking at the chapter on neuropathy (nerve pain). If you have severe insomnia and fatigue it may be an associated fibromyalgia, but it sounds like there's also some other process going on as well that to be best looked at by a neurologist. I don't know any fibromyalgia specialists in your area, but you may want to find a physician who specializes in pain management (Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation)
