Question to Dr. T on Low Blood Pressure

Question
What does low blood pressure do to you and what causes low blood pressure?
Answer
Low blood pressure isn’t always a problem. In fact, if someone feels well, has good energy, and isn’t experiencing symptoms, naturally lower readings can simply reflect a healthy cardiovascular system. But when low blood pressure shows up alongside issues like fatigue, low stamina, dizziness when standing, brain fog, or irritability when hungry ("hangry"), it may signal that the body needs support.
Once a family doctor has ruled out major medical concerns, a commonly overlooked contributor is adrenal fatigue—especially when irritability with hunger is present. In these cases, many people find that supporting adrenal function helps restore healthy energy and resilience. One helpful option I often recommend is the supplement Adrenaplex®, which can nourish the adrenal system and support a healthy stress response for improved daily stamina and mood.
Another frequent factor in fatigue and post-exertional exhaustion is orthostatic intolerance, a pattern where blood pressure or heart rate shifts abnormally upon standing (often seen in conditions like POTS or NMH). This issue is commonly missed in routine medical visits, yet it is very manageable once identified. You can learn more about this at Orthostatic Intolerance in Fibromyalgia. This article also includes a downloadable quiz to help you see if what you are experiencing is consistent with Orthostatic Intolerance.
If symptoms such as profound fatigue, unrefreshing sleep, or widespread achiness are present, I also recommend you take this quiz at my site to see if your symptoms may point to CFS or fibromyalgia.
